Pat Showalter was appointed by the City of Mountain View to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency effective January 2025. The City’s municipal water system provides water to over 87,000 residents in a 12-square-mile service area.
Ms. Showalter served on Mountain View's City Council from 2015 through 2018, 2021 through 2024 and was re-elected in 2025. Known as a champion for the environment and housing, she focuses on climate-change related issues and increasing housing supply.
She serves on the San Francisco Bay Conservation & Development Commission as well as the National League of Cities' Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Committee. Ms. Showalter represents Mountain View on the Silicon Valley Clean Energy Board, Santa Clara Valley Water District Joint Recycled Water Policy Committee (Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Mountain View), and the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project Stakeholder Forum.
Ms. Showalter’s Council Committee assignments include: Appointments Review Committee, Goal-Setting Subcommittee, Neighborhoods Committee, and Sustainability Committee.
Ms. Showalter is a licensed civil engineer who worked in Water Resources Management for over 30 years. Both her career and her public service have been devoted to protecting and advocating for the environment of the Bay Area. She earned a Master’s in Civil Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and a Bachelor’s in Geology & History from Mount Holyoke College.
